Why is there a 15K run instead of a half marathon this year, and why is the price the same?

For 2026, we’re introducing a 15K run in place of the half marathon to create the best possible runner experience. Reaching the full 21.1K distance required additional turns, neighbourhood loops, and road crossings, which affected flow and safety for participants, volunteers, and residents along the route. While we made adjustments in recent years to address these issues, half marathon participation did not grow. The 15K allows us to focus on the most enjoyable and scenic sections of the course while delivering a smoother, safer race for everyone involved. The registration fee remains the same because runners receive the same level of race-day support, including the same number of aid stations, timing, medical coverage, volunteers, and finish-line experience. The 15K is a growing and popular distance—offering a meaningful challenge beyond 10K without the full training commitment of a half marathon, and we’re excited about the quality of experience and new energy it brings to the Rotary Huron Shore Run.

What are the awards categories?

Overall awards will be offered to the first three male and female finishers of each race. Age Group awards will be offered to the first three male and female finishers of each race in the following age groups: 10-13, 14-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

Are refunds available?

As this is a charity event, we’re unable to offer refunds. However, you can defer your entry to next year if needed.

Some information is incorrect in my registration. How can I edit it?

You can update your information by logging into your Race Roster account.

I can no longer attend. Is it possible to defer my registration or transfer it to a friend?

I've already registered for a race and would like to change events. How can I do this?

No problem! Just send us a request via email.

Green Bib

Green Bib

Both options sound great—how do I decide?

Choose whichever fits your preferences! If you love collecting race medals and wearing your race shirts, go with the Regular Bib. If you already have plenty of race gear or prefer to support environmental initiatives, the Green Bib is perfect. There's no wrong choice.

Will I receive a tax receipt for the donation?

No. Since you're still receiving a service (race entry and race day amenities), this is not considered a charitable donation under CRA rules, and therefore, a tax receipt cannot be issued.

Does the Green Bib cost less than the Regular Bib?

The registration price is the same for both options. The donation is included in your registration fee.

What project will my donation support?

Your donation supports a sustainability initiative led by the Town of Saugeen Shores. The project will be identified in Spring 2026.

How will volunteers know I chose the Green Bib?

Your bib will have a distinct marking or sticker that identifies you as a Green Bib participant, so volunteers won't offer you a shirt or medal.

What will I receive with a Green Bib registration?

You'll receive your race bib (with a special Green Bib marking), chip timing, all on-course support, and post-race refreshments. You will not receive a race shirt or finisher medal.

What if I change my mind after the race?

If we have extra shirts or medals available after the event, you may be able to purchase them by contacting us. However, we order conservatively based on registrations to minimize overproduction, so availability cannot be guaranteed.

Can I change my mind after registering?

Yes! You can switch between Green Bib and Regular Bib options through your registration dashboard until April 1. A transfer fee may apply.
